Missing opportunities in virtual worlds

Pets are something in second life that many people have. There are so many different kinds. Zooby's offers varieties to follow you around, set on your shoulder, hold in your hands and even sleep on the floor. A movie is comming out soon called "The Golden Compass". In it, adults and children alike have daemons which appear just like pets. Second Life would be a great platform for a movie like this to introduce itself to. Imagine if you could walk up and either choose what form your daemon takes, or go through a series of questions to have one given to you.
